If Carnegie Mellon is an eco-friendly school that encourages students to save the environment by recycling, reusing and reducing, the new lighting on the exterior of the Hunt Library definitely defeats that purpose. Eco-friendliness does not deal with just plastics, cans, glass, paper and etc. Eco-friendliness is deals with anything and everything that can help keep the environment in a healthy state. Thus, the new lighting on the Hunt Library is a waste of energy and money.

Sure, it is a nice attraction and the colors are pretty, but as of now, what really is more important? Aesthetics or Saving the Earth (especially from Global Warming)?
